We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Transport Subcontracting Manager to join our Transport team at our Head Office in Wellingborough, this role will be specialising in general haulage operations.
What are you going to do?
As the Transport Subcontracting Manager, you will sit within the general haulage team executing all subcontracted jobs effectively and efficiently to meet and exceed customer and Linkline Transport’s expectations.
Speaking with external customers, transport companies & internal stakeholders, you will need superb communication skills both written & verbal.
You will inherit an established supplier/customer base which you will need to maintain the day-to-day operations being the first point of contact where you will provide exceptional customer service by resolving customer issues/complaints and ensuring critical KPI's are met.
You will also be responsible for identifying and onboarding new suppliers around the UK to cover additional work volumes whether that is from a current customer or new customer that you have identified. To put it simply, to grow the general haulage operation through existing contacts and networking.
You will negotiate and manage 3PL haulier rates whilst measuring performance of all 3PL hauliers whilst liaising with compliance manager to ensure that our subcontractors are compliant and insured.

It is important that you have proven, demonstrable experience within an UK Road subcontracting role, and be familiar with general haulage, groupage, pallet networks and same day deliveries.
